HELP... Asap!

Im scared of any agency that only sells annuities for one company did I say that yet? And Erie Life at that! Thats erie!:1eek:

I wasn't coming down on you, but making a statement that reflected my feelings on a matter. There are a bunch of agents out there that can't spell dollar, but damn sure try to make money screwing up some seniors finances.

I appreciate your passion for helping clients. Sometimes the best answer is "I don't know" and/or "that's not my area of business" and help them along the way.

I know you weren't coming down on me. ;) I didn't have a problem with it at all, you were just stating FACT. I don't know much, and I wasn't going to be the one doing the "advising", I would have left that up to MR. Williams. My job would have been sitting and learning!!!! I just wanted to know if there was something out there that was short term (6 months).. that we could help her with. I couldn't get a hold of Mr. Williams, so I contacted our DSM, and he told me that Erie didn't have any products THAT short term.

I wouldn't venture into something like that without have a TERRIFIC knowledge about it first. I'm too scared to be the one to "hurt' the Senior whose worked their whole life for that money. Not worth the guilt I would feel :nah:

Many who I have known who sell annuities have filed bankruptcy, have poor credit ratings, are broke and always looking for something that is "free". They obviously can't handle their own money, what makes them think that they are qualified to tell a senior the best way to invest theirs?

I am sure you are not lumping all annuity agents/ financial advisors together?

I wonder how many agents that sell Medicare supplements; actually own a medicare supplement? Does that make them any more or less qualified?

There are CD type annuities (i.e. short term), but you have to know what you are doing!

The CD-type annuity falls under the MYGA category.;)
