I am a Medicare guru. This Final Expense stuff is making my brain hurt. Help me out here, guys. . .

My Mom:
67
5'4" 130#
No tobacco
COPD not currently on O2, (but that's because her doc is an ***)
Brain tumor removed in 1997 which caused all of her problems, no other cancer
Lives in a Group Home
Pretty much wheelchair bound
Currently on LTC claim (8 years and $450,000- Thank you Genworth!)
Controlled hypertension
Has a couple of inhalers, Advair, xopenex(I think that's for breathing machine), proair.
Other than that, she's in great shape. :D

What we are looking for:
Whatever we can get for around $100-$130 per month.

What do you think? Ideas?

Cindy

Any that will do a level or graded benefit? She's going to outlive us all. . .

So you aren't going to need it before two years anyway, right? ;)

She is on an LTC claim and in a wheelchair. Depending on the age of the policy, the LTC claim pretty much means that she needs help with ADLs, or has a severe cognitive impairment (Alzheimer's or dementia). That will exclude a lot of companies. The wheelchair will exclude a lot of others. And then the group home is a facility which would exclude basically anything else. Oh, and just in case that didn't do it, the COPD will as take care of the rest.

Sorry, but see which is cheaper for her, Vantis or Gerber and write it.

Yes, with given info. Return of Premium Final Expense Policy is probably your best bet.
Vantis, UHL, Royal Neighbors, Americo, all offer this particular product.

When did RNA offer that? Americo and UHL shouldn't say they offer it with the rates they charge.

The best deal for Mom is going to be MoO. If you want the best deal for the writing agent and Mom then it's going to be Vantis or Gerber.
