Holidays are DONE, New Years does NOT count - CRUSH 2020

Thanks shonceman!

I'm doing MP at current so hopefully some of these people will be home as well.

Yesterday I door knocked because some joker agreed to an appointment but it was a waste of my time. I figured since I was already out in the sticks I might as well see if any of these other people are home.

Well New Year's Eve turned out to be a bust for door knocking.

I went from 11:30 - 3p

Only 1 dude was at home and he allegedly couldn't afford anything

I guess I thought more 9-5 people would be off work....

Anyhow I plan to door knock today (hope noon isn't too early) and each day through Saturday - mainly because I'm working with older leads and the manager challenged me to 75 knocks this week (trying to come in 2020 with a bang) so I'll report back.
I am completely fine with door knocking at 9am, but I generally start at 10am. I don't mind door knocking till the dark unless it is in an apartment building because there time doesn't matter relative to someone's house in the evening. I prefer to meet by appointment after dark, but I do final expense not MP. Crush it today!

Also I want to know is New Year's Day a work holiday for agents? I want to door knock but I don't know if I'll get cussed out like this is some sacred holiday or something?
For many years I always worked on New Year's Day "in order to start the year off right". I also worked every Thanksgiving afternoon, Fourth of July, etc. The only holiday I did not work was Christmas Day. No one ever gave me any grief about it..

I'm not working today because I don't want to.

"I've got more people to reach than I've got time for,

Ditto and Ditto.

I did return a couple calls yesterday. Placed (by phone) an OTA policy. And drove out to a clients house to write her granddaughter that was visiting. Had lunch and a beer there.

Returned a claim call today. And a couple text that I will call them tomorrow.

One of the beauties of being self employed is "I'm not working today because I don't want to". :1biggrin:

I agree. Most days are just another day and there are only few circumstance where people legitimately cannot meet. Worst case scenario you can reschedule for another day.

Happy New Years Everyone! A few decades ago when the babies were in diapers straight commission selling graves door to door for the big funeral chain we were paid weekly for business turned in Monday by 9:00am was paid Friday. Sometimes canvassing Sunday was the difference between a paycheck or not on Friday and a person does what they need to do. If someone chewed me out for canvassing on a Sunday I usually informed them that if they were in church they wouldn't know I was here. Now if I was in that situation I would just humbly apologize and leave, but I am convinced there are always homes to get into regardless of the occasion so if someone wants to work they should work.

I like that line, but did it get you in any doors?

I can see it now. Well Beuford, we can pretend it is Sunday and you are in church tieghing and don't know I just knocked on your door.
Or we can pretend it is Tuesday afternoon and we are about to do a quick review of this information you requested.
I'm here, it's Tuesday.......,this will only take a few minutes. And I won't have come back on real Tuesday.
