HometownQuotes Leads

Answers it very well and I certainly hope other lead vendors have the same quality control measures.

Agents also have to understand what a "lead" means. Most, unfortunately, mistakenly believe these are people looking to buy insurance.

That is incorrect. No vendor will ever build a platform to ascertain a level of interest. If agents could by leads for people only looking to purchase, they'd be $50 per lead.

Leads are only people with the basic level of interest to fill out the form. Just so long as affiliate who use trickery are eliminated there shouldn't be an issue. However, IMHO, far too many affiliates do just that - use trickery.

Lead flow is what it is. More volume cannot be created artificially or quality goes down. And when quality goes down then it's just a game of replacing agent A with agent B.

This is the kink of junk that harms the lead industry:

Ads
Super Cheap Health Plans
Lowest Rate Health Insurance Plans.
Offers from $30/month. Free Quotes!
www.affordable-health-insurance

People can get health insurance for $30 per month? News to me.

Yea I personally am actually great with affiliates that are doing things the right way but this "If you are paying more than $9 per month for insurance you are paying too much!" is total BS.

...or quotes for "diabetic health plans" being sold health insurance agents. Even if you have health filters eventually you hit your return cap - then ooops, no more credits.

Well...that would certainly be our take on it. If we sent you 10 leads with disconnected #s...we have a problem that we need to take care of.

"Are you asking for me to show you the landing pages we currently use for consumers?"

Yes, that would be great! Can you also list your affiliates? I know that just about every broker that buys leads would probably become your client if they were satisfied with those two parts of the buying process.

Thanks.

Cool...yea I am more than happy to share some of our landing pages. Of course, we literally have hundreds of variations of these three types, but these will give you the gist:

Educational: Insurance Quotes » Auto Insurance » Online Free

Traditional LP: Home Insurance Quotes from HometownQuotes

Straight to the Form: https://www.hometownquotes.com/index.cfm?action=health

NOTE...please don't fill out the lead forms. These links are LIVE and leads are sent out in real time. If you do then agents just like you get them, they get pissed off, we have to spend the time to credit them...just not worth the hassle. If you want to play with our lead forms I am happy to provide a test link. Just please do me a favor and don't fill out these.

I will probably not share our affiliates but I can I at least tell you why. As I am sure you are aware most if not all of our competitors follow this forum and while I am sure they would love to get their hands on that list...giving it to them is probably not good business for us.

With that said, I can tell you again that we constantly monitor the performance of landing pages, ads and all lead sources for quality. I gave the details in this post earlier.

Sometimes a landing page that does well now doesn't do so well in the future. We react quickly and pull it.

Hope that helps!

Hi Hunter. Just started back up with you folks this past weekend. Just want to say thank you for talking with me a few months back. I kind of kept our conversation in the back of my mind and decided to give it another go.

One of the things we talked about, that had actually gotten worse with Allweb(where I was at) was the manufactured fake leads.

That is, leads that are real people, real phones, real addresses and nothing close to real in the personal information. When contacted these folks had no idea something was put out on the net. I actually just had to speak to a detective from a police department as one of these people thought someone had stole her identity.

Recently I had been running roughly 80% of these fake generated leads. Allweb was good about credits if I found the lead was false, but it got to where I was spending too much time tracing fake leads back so I could get credits for them. Spending 80% of your time verifying bad leads is 80% of your time not selling, but trying not to get charged for bad leads.

Since we spoke, did you go anywhere with how you're dealing with this problem? I am sure it's not just an Allweb problem.

Thanks man! Good to hear from you. Been following much Rugby? I actually thought about you this weekend. I went to the USA vs. Spain soccer game in Boston. I know, I know...two different sports but for a guy that has never spent much time around either I see some similarities and that made me wonder what you were up to.

You are spot on...bad leads do happen (no matter where you get them...your own website, us, awl etc) and spending a lot of time tracking them down is a pain in the butt and costs money. I can tell you that we have made some good strides and have even more things coming VERY soon that is going to take that to the next level. ;)
