How does someone even sell insurance anymore

lol, 90% of my income is P&C. I used to make about $200/hr. pre-COVID but I lost staff so my per hour income went down but my annual income is up. It's all a numbers game. I get paid for what I produce, you may not since your contract is different from mine. I guess this forum isn't able to assist you with your singular focus
He doesn't understand that you never know when a small account will turn into a large one. I personally knew of an agent that years ago wrote a couple of small "burial" polices on a couple. Turned out that son was a principle in a large multistate company whom he met doing some service work for his clients. To make a very long story short, the agent ended up with a payroll deduction case offering life and ancillary health products to all the employees. He also introduced another agent to the company that took care of all the companies business life insurance needs on a split basis. Not bad for small case.

Sounds like a kiss ass to me

I can give you the names of a dozen agents under age 40 netting 6 figures after expenses(some over 250k). Now, there are hundreds more that didn't make it. Successful agents or business people do the things that the unsuccessful either can't or won't do. You need to make that decision, none of us can do that for you
How long does it take to get to this level? Do I have to work for 10 years before I "make it" because in 10 years the dollar is going to be worth nothing and being a millionaire won't be that special. I feel like if I can't reach 6 figure income within 5 years I'm a straight up failure and so far there is a lack of direction in my insurance sales career which is extremely uncertain and frustrating ... Meanwhile all these other people who you wouldnt think are good at sales keep bragging about how they just did 10k of revenue this month. Like what the hell am I doing wrong. This is out of my control

Maybe I'll just become and underwriter then deny every single submission the 20-30 year old little agents send my way.

Some of them do but most of them won't grow that much unless they start hiring people like crazy or opening new locations. Anything less than 5k of premium is a waste of time, I blow that commission on blackjack or roulette.

I am not trying to offend you or be a smart alec but go back and read all your posts. You really do need an attitude adjustment. Spend the money to buy Art Williams "All you can do is all you can do" $7.99 Kindle version om Amazon. See if you don't find yourself in it and take what he recommends to heart. Most of the success stories he mentions are guys that exceled in his term life operation but the principles he lays out apply to any endeavor.

My attitude at the office is fine, I hustle hard I make tons of submissions but no one wants to become my client or theyre always construction contractor who ONLY CARE ABOUT PRICE and nothing about risk management. And all these clown start ups dont even realize how much their insurance will cost. I waste all this time quoting and they cant afford the policy. You dont know what my attitude is in the workplace. I'm using this forum to be anonymous and talk about the side that NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT because everyone acts like it's all kumbaya and roses.... no one ever talks about the struggles and dark side of things.
