How Many in 30 Days?

This is confusing me. I have been told by my agency that in appointments, I need to be helping my prospects with Healthcare (dot) gov.. God, I know absolutely nothing.

YOUR AGENCY? LifeWorth, you're with an agency that makes more money if you're successful, and yet they're hanging you out to dry?!?!?

If so, Go Find Another Agency. Find a local agency that appreciates your desire to succeed, and is willing to train and support you in that journey.

we are less than a week out and have no clue... ann, stop tapping the glass

Some day when I have more time, I'm gonna get a Texan dictionary and find out what all these corny but incredibly charming country sayings really mean. Tapping the glass.... going off the reservation... more useless than teats on ... oh... I guess I know what that one means.

Argh. I couldn't help myself. I googled it.

Tapping the Glass
word type: poker slang

A term used to describe an inappropriate manner of expressing frustration towards weaker players, "educating" them in the process.

Moron Poker Pros
A professional poker player ("ppp") is supposed to have the discipline and self-control to not act as a coach, a critic, or a teacher at the poker table.

Despite this, many pros can't help themselves but express frustration at weaker players by indicating the flaws in the "lives ones'" game.

This approach is not only unpleasant but also counter-intuitive and constitutes "tapping the glass."

You do see right through me, dontcha?

Oh, that is hilarious and nailed it. So tater gets all his cliches from Google? Or, maybe he knows what the river card is.

The best way to learn a lot of them is to come on down and spend some time with some True Texans'....as they have been past down through the generations. I still learn new ones from time to time...I've even taught Peeler a couple, one was "nickle dickin"...the other had to do with a High Diver (talkin about txins)...lol

This is confusing me.

I have been told by my agency that in appointments I need to be helping my prospects with Healthcare (dot) gov. So, if I can't help the prospect input the information into the website, what's the point of face to face appointments? Why not just do it all over the phone, suggest the prospect which plan they should take, then give them my national producer number?

I'm so damn confused about absolutely everything regarding this open enrollment period that I don't know what is up and what is down.

Another question: when re-writing clients whose policies will end on dec 31st (I'm assuming ALL policies that ANYONE owns that was written during last OEP will end on the 31st of Dec?), do they pay their first premium at the time they sign up? Or do they pay in january?

Does the new insurance take effect in december, or in January of 2015?

So, since I'll be re-writing the insurance, when healthcare dot gov asks if the client currently has insurance, the answer is "yes", correct? So, basically the new coverage will be replacing the old coverage? Or will the website understand that we are simply going from the old one to the new one once 2015 arrives?

God, I know absolutely nothing.

Every question you just asked is in the skillsoft training located in access blue, every one. I am beginning to think you already know these answer's and pulling some chains here. I did not realize YA offered to train you a year ago. A Year and you still ask these questions. But then again cga's hire body's hoping they will write a few apps and provide nothing. You do have access to all the tools I do so you have 6 days to learn them.

Go independent, sign up for acaexpress and health sherpa if you want to make any money.

BTW LW have you seen the latest bulletin on losing 50% of Medicare commission's?

Yes I have.
Not sure what to make of it...

Everything everyone here tells me just leaves me feeling resentful towards my agency. Kinda makes me not even wanna sell because it will be making money off of me. Oh well, sell I must! :)

Yes, join.me is the best way to go! As I only meet with about 25% in person.

This year I'm scheduling 1 hour appointments back to back from 8am - 9pm. Booked solid into Dec right now.

Have two employees. One producer and one office manager to deal with issues/errors.

I'm in WA State with an independent state exchange so my experience might be a bit different from others.

My practice is in a wealthy suburb of Seattle so less than half are through the exchange...

So, we are 5 whole days into the 30 day window, how y'all doin?

I've done about 20% of my expected apps so far, right on track. Many more through the Marketplace than anticipated (about 50%)

Busier than a one armed paper hanger but expect to have almost all of my expected apps done by December 1st (at least that is the goal) so I have time to give new referrals (which have been steadily coming in so far) a fair amount of time.
