Hi forum,

I am thinking of becoming a life insurance agent but I had a few questions. If I start buying Direct Mail Leads, how many should I be able to sell? Again, I have not started yet so numbers for a new person please. What would my ROI be? Also, is it better to door knock, Set Appointments or both?

Unfortunately, there are a lot of "if's, and's, and butt's" attached to the answer.

2-4 sales from every 10 leads is doable for a brand spanking new agent!

It all depends on where and who you are marketing, your sales talent and product knowledge, products yer offering, and about 15 other things. lol

Kind of a loaded question. I think it depends on a number of things:

1. Background in sales is not a prerequisite but being consistent is a requirement.
2. Having a hardwork get it done mentality.
3. Being able to watch and learn what is being done in a home and then copy catting (is that a word lol) the whole thing.
4. Dont reinvent the wheel, once you find out what works turn up the volume

As far as exactly a number to attain 1 sale, it could be 1 lead or it could be 10 leads. Here is the skinny, I guarantee if you buy 20 direct mail leads weekly you will write enough business not to worry about the little things. It will just "happen".
