How Many of You Are Working Thursday...

We're thinking real hard on cutting out at noon. We have no family issues to deal with Christmas eve so there's nothing pressing us not to work other than the desire to get this time of year behind us.

Well, it's about bedtime... 10 p.m..... Christmas eve. Sold a plan this a.m., no appointments after noon, so spent the p.m. catching up on paperwork. Went to Church at 5:00 (during Winter Blizzard) to celebrate Christ's birthday... came home and did a little surfin' on the 'net.

Got to get some sleep so's I can drive my wife to work at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. Wx man says to expect as much as 14 inches of snow, so I will have a lot of snow to scrape off the windshield in the morning. I'll use the time being alone tomorrow trying to complete my catch-up... been a busy AEP!

I spell business... busy-ness. Anyone starting out as a sole proprietor better not get the idea you can take off whenever you like just because you work for yourself..... They say better than 80% of small businesses fail... that's enough to keep my nose to the grindstone.

Can't stand holidays. Working both 24th and 31st. Better than staring blankly at tv with cousins.

I agree. Wish I could work on Xmas day also but don't want to offend anyone by calling.

As far as I'm concerned, 365 days a year are all the same.

Bah, humbug!

Merry Christmas to everyone! And for the rest of us, Happy Festivus.

Rick

I'll let you know how many ppl are offended!

I worked from 8:45 to 3:00 today. Two new clients. Four PDP enrollments. Went file by file through about 1/10th of our clients checking for mistakes and opportunities. Found one missing copy of an application from a fairly new client. It got shoved in the wrong file.

Working Sat or Sunday depending on the roads. It will be nice not having anyone calling or stopping in.

I didn't work Thursday. Had zero calls. Will not work Saturday or Sunday and if I had an insurance agent call me either day I would think they were crazy or in dyer straights for money.

Would I write someone Saturday? Absolutely, if they call me. But no way I'm calling anyone.

Oh...I will be working in my yard over the weekend....burning leaves.

Well, here it is... Christmas morning, and it is certainly a white Christmas this year. About 6" I'd say... about 3' in drifts, especially around my wife's car. Roads were being worked quite heavily by snow removal... problems are intersections. Big drifts as the plows go through each direction, piling up drifts across the direction of traffic. I almost got hit when our car went sideways after hitting a plowed row in the middle of the acceleration lane entering I-470. Snow plow doing about 60mph in the middle of the highway was coming, and I hit one of those drifts that filled the lane right in front of me. I had no time to stop, and it had rained just before the snow started last night, so a sheet of ice was underneath this blanket of snow. I shot across his bow at 90 degrees... missed him by inches!

My experience driving race cars came in handy... corrected just before getting to the middle concrete barrier and swung back in the correct direction of travel, and fell in behind the snow plow! God does protect us... no way should I have escaped that mess without a scatch.
