How Many?

Hopefully this will be repealed before we suffer through another OEP.

Rick

Good luck with that. Even if we see a total change in both House and Senate this fall, the new reps and senators won't take office until 2015 OEP is almost over. The earliest we are going to see anything is 2016.

Wrote 30 since last Wednesday, took Sat and Sun off.

This is my theory: Won't be repealed even if republican's control both houses, obama will veto any legislation. By the time obama is out of office there will probably be close to 25 million on these plans. A republican will be our next President and instead of repealing it and pissing off 25 million, will switch gears and they will implement Medicare for all.

Speaking of suffering, did you see the notice from CMS today advising brokers to get ready for 2015 ACA certification? Anyone NOT going to recertify? I don't think carriers are allowed to pay renewals if you don't stay certified/licensed with CMS? Ha..they'd probably like that!

I didn't see that one unless it was in the notice about SEP's, I did receive that from CMS.

The one I'm referring to is dated April 1, 2014 and arrived in my e-mail at 2:30pm(CDT). Here's a copy/paste of the relevant wording.

"Lastly, please continue to check our webpage for agents/brokers in the FFMs in the coming weeks for more information regarding FFM training and registration for agents/brokers for the 2015 benefit year. (Resources for Agents and Brokers in the Health Insurance Marketplace - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)

Thank you again for your participation in the FFMs and we look forward to continuing to work with you."

Due to bandwidth limitations, CMS can only send out 5 e-mails per minute. Yours will be in your in-box before 2015 O.E., Blue Diamond.

Yea, I heard they started with ILL since Obama calls it home, so Florida is last? Don't surprise me. Hell we had to complete a training lesson today from FB to sell any under 65 for the rest of the year. Well we have to have it completed by Friday, I did it this morning.

I felt great about the number I did...until another broker (who lives near this group) told me about a small agency in a minority concentrated area here in eastern NC. According to him, the agency hired 20 young ladies from a local community college to do nothing but enter paper apps. They finished with 3500! I about choked on my drink when he told me that. I have yet to confirm it, but what a way to attack this ACA AEP.

Find out how many are inforce after 6 months. At least 70% will not stick IMO.

Once they are enrolled, with 30 day grace period, it will be interesting. Will they be able to reinstate a lapsed policy. There will definitely be a % of those.

So far, Aetna has been pretty absolute about making them reapply if they didn't pay their 1st premium by the policy effective date. Some others gave more time. 80-90% of mine have paid well, so far.

If they pay their initial premium, they can be up to 89 days late with their next premium payment (I think). After 90 days they are uninsured again and have to wait until next OE to sign up to do it all over again next year.

If they don't pay their initial premium by that carrier's due date, they wasted an hour of your time for free.
