I currently charge $200 a month but do much more than rank a site with backlinks. I maintain the ranking month by month for up to 6 keywords. I am also big on ranking for Google Places which comprises most of the results any time you do a local search.

Most good leads will come from a local city search for auto insurance. I also throw in a youtube video for my clients and use several other high profile sites to dominate the results for a local business. SEO work even for local can be fairly complex and time consuming, so I limit how many clients I will service as to give proper attention to them. My recommendation is to find someone who you can communicate with a regular basis.

One of my sites is currently on the top ten of google results for the top 100 cities for SR22 Auto Insurance. Gets around 1000 views a month.

I say undocumented because I don't believe in keeping records. However, just from memory, I can give you the names of five websites that, because of my SEO work, they have multiple key phrases that ranks them on the first 10 pages of Google.

I don't believe in keeping records either. My dad keeps records, but he's in his 70's. We still have some CDs, but mostly we've moved on to mp3's and such.

So how could you possibly manage 700 customers. If you gave 1 hour a week to each client thats 700 hours a week. But we all know there are only 168 hours in a week. Maybe what you meant to say was you gave each client 1 hour's worth of attention every 2 months???? But since you only remember five off the top of your head, it may be difficult to say what happened???? Not doubting at all what you claim, it's just my calculator is having a problem with it.

Maybe this will help. I do have a staff of eight persons that helps out with SEO projects. They're mostly local high school kids who need part-time work.

For example, if I'm working on an "Oklahoma Health Insurance" website, I will tell them to Google that term and make notes on the websites that show up on pages 3-6. I figure the first two pages are probably mostly ads.

Then they give me phrases that are "catchy" on those sites and we then inform our client that they should write articles about those phrases and mention them a lot in the article. Maybe 10% of the article should be those words.
