How Often Do You Experienced Life Isurance Agents Issue Policies?

Re: How Often Do You Experienced Life Isurance Agents Issue Polic

So since I only sell P&C, where is it written that I have to sell life?

I answered what I could, but there's no way to give success ratios on leads that would mean anything to him. Different types of leads/states/demographics, etc. all change the outcome.

My target demographic is anyone that won't immediately hang up on me. i've had plenty of practice so far on the rebuttals i get on these bogus leads. i just need to know where i can get some leads where i am the first to contact a family. that's my biggest question i guess. how do i be the first to get a direct mail lead? or the first to call on a telemarketing lead? or internet quote lead? anyone?

300 points for this question.

Stop buying leads. Find your own, then you'll be first. Go knock some doors, cold call.

I can't speak of all the different life IMO's out there, but I can tell you that I've never worked with anyone that is as good as Ash Brokerage.
They are truly there to help you and without all the hype. They have an incredible amount of companies to work with, and so you'll always be competitive and you'll be able to help your clients.
I would not go anywhere near eFinancial or others like them. Ash is truly professional and they will help you to get business issued.
As far as marketing goes, I wouldn't waste money on life leads. Life insurance should be a very easy cross-sell if you are doing health insurance.
BTW...I don't offer any contracts with Ash but I could refer you to someone that helped me.

Vol is right....get your own leads. You can send direct mail, but the results aren't always great and you have to narrow down your target market. You can also just cold call and do it that way. Cold calling would be the cheapest.

you don't......but why would you not offer it....not that hard of a product to understand......

To be honest, when I was at Farmers, they RAMMED Life down our thoats, so with my mentally, the harder you push, the less I will do of it out of spite.

Also, since I went IA, I have about 40 P&C companies, so by the time you learn all of that, I just havent dealt with life. I still have my license for it.

I may get into it again, but right now, I have only had a handful of people ask me about it, but i just refer them to my friend, which actually sends me more referrals for the P&C. So right now, I am in a win win situation.

Eventually, I want to put on just a life specialist to work under me, but the P&C is keeping me busy enough at the moment.

At Farmers, they only paid us 40% of first year and like 3% on renewal on Term, so honestly, it wasnt worth it finanacially for the agents, sure we ask about it, but didnt market for it. I know I should be able to get 90% commission now as an IA, but just something I havent had time to deal with at the moment. I honestly would need to retrain myself in life sales, I havent written one in about 3 years.

IMHO, i think i am doing a little better with the referrals, I give a few, but get more back in referrals from Financial planners. They send me more than I send them, so every couple I send them works out. I also have a friend who only does Health insurance, she doesnt do life at all. So I have a nice circle for my clients, just not all thru me.

Also, I personally think, again, just my opinion, that life insurance should be part of the overall financial planning picture than attached with P&C insurance. Again, just my opinion.

well that would do it......thought you might be able to develop outside contracts with company's that had the best life deals.....
