How to Have Faith in Final Expense?

"If the Sun and Moon should ever doubt, they'd immediately go out."
― William Blake

You must have this kind of conviction. No doubts.

Keep your head up and stay focused on your goal of providing something that very few people can. Believe me, at the time of a claim, you'll be the only person there to give a check to the widow instead of asking for a check from her. This is a very noble and satisfying career as I'm sure others here can attest to.

If you aren't getting a piece of all the business that you are writing, then I'd look into another IMO. You should get paid on all the business you write. Good luck brotha!

Not sure about someone paying more into the policy than the death benefit. In most cases, a person buying a level benefit policy will be paying premiums based upon their life expectancy. If they have major medical conditions, then they will have a shorter life expectency and their premiums will reflect that. It is a small tradeoff in terms of the benefits provided to the person's family compared to the concern that they may pay more in premiums than they receive in DB.

It would be common in FE type products. It would be uncommon in traditional Whole Life or GUL life insurance

That's exactly what it sounds like.

Yeah, my spidey sense would be tingling.

Mine has tingled, too. I do believe they are pocketing the business, but it's one of those things I can't prove that the IMO is doing, so until I am able to afford going fully independent, and feel like I have enough experience under my belt, it's the price to pay, I guess.

JD, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I know I can make it in this business, I just didn't expect the rollercoaster that it has been up to this point. I've owned 2 businesses in the past, 1 in construction, and another internet based, and both had their ups and downs, but this is a different type of rollercoaster. I actually use what you said as part of my presentation, I just haven't had it happen yet, so it was hard to believe -- "I show up with a check when everyone else has a bill."

I'm back at it, though. I went out and wrote $2600 yesterday and $1300 today off 8 apps total.

Thanks again for the advice ya'll!!

Good job.. keep on keeping on.. On the order of what JD has to say, I tell them, "The preacher will show up with his hat in his hands. The neighbors will show up with a casserole in their hands. As your life insurance agent, I am the only person you know that will show up a check in hand."

Appoint with a couple low priced Carriers to use as an alternative. Do not display your FE Business Card in the beginning. When you find good health, change your presentation, and offer a product from another Carrier. Then offer a business card your (general) Business Name. (that you should already have anyway for alternative products)
