How to Have Faith in Final Expense?

Appoint with a couple low priced Carriers to use as an alternative. Do not display your FE Business Card in the beginning. When you find good health, change your presentation, and offer a product from another Carrier. Then offer a business card your (general) Business Name. (that you should already have anyway for alternative products)

Why would you carry more than one business card. Are you carrying one with a carriers name on it?

JD, the IMO I'm with has supplied the info and training for FE. Any fully underwritten we get has to go back to them, and we never see it once it's past that point. I've turned in 8 of them and can't get any info on any of the clients, whether they were taken or refused.

I would question this policy all day long every day. Your business should be your business unless you are a captive agent and signed an agreement to this. If that is the case then you still should have access to fully U/W apps you write. I recently posted on a thread titled "6 reasons why agents fail" and I stated that your up-line needs you. If they are not fulfilling their obligation then move on. One thing I have learned in this business is that I had to grow skin thick as an alligator. I am not going to intentionally try to screw anyone or for that matter hurt their feelings but I have to feed my family first, second, and on and on.

Lucky for me, I am working with an MGA that provides me just about anything I need to be successful in a niche market, and for those prospects I see outside of that market I have some really good contracts.

It would be common in FE type products. It would be uncommon in traditional Whole Life or GUL life insurance

I recently wrote a rated up fully underwritten IUL policy on a client that was up in age that if the client lived somewhere around 20 years or more he would have paid in more than the guaranteed death benefit but the potential of the indexing would produce a higher amount at an illustrated rate of 5.5%. I was tempted to illustrate at the standard 6.5% but with this guys age I wanted to illustrate a little more conservatively then I normally do.

I don't see this as good advice. Why would you not give them your card upfront? Or why would you change your presentation?

I must be missing the point you are making?

I Agree seems odd. The first thing I do is hand them my card. I put a copy of my ins license on the back and I tell them "Their is a copy of my Ohio License on the back" they flip it over and look and you can see them start to put their guard down

Some of my clients can't read the app so I have to wonder how the they are going to be able to read my license on the back of a business card? I like the idea though. :)

I carry a business card with the Carrier's name on it because its their lead and my focus for the appt. However I'm not captive and going to do what's right. I have 11 licenses and if the Carrier's product I'm presenting is not right for the client, and I have the right product that is, I am going to do what's right and offer what is off of my general business portfolio. The client has a need and if I don't have to leave the need on the table, I'm going to help them.

Thanks, I do things differently. I have a company that regularly sends me hot leads, I never carry their card. I want my clients to only think of me for their insurance. It is not unusual for clients to call my office for service and not be sure which company they have.

I strip policy packets of company's marketing and branding. My toll free number and email is stickered on the front of the folder and again on the policy. Just a different way of doing things.

I work a lot like you do.
