How to make the most money in 4 months

The only way I know of to get a decent chunk of cash quick in this business is to sell some large life policies. Even then, you might be looking at 3 months to get a check, especially for large cases that require a bit more underwriting.

You said it, but I don't know how many people in the health and med supp biz can appreciate it. I do mostly health and med supps now, but when I got started, I wanted to make a lot of money as fast as possible, so that I could be a long hauler, and get more diversified. My second year in the biz I wrote $150K commish life insurance exclusively, but $60K of it came from 5 policies. If I had been more experienced, of course the payoff would have been much better. But I was angry and annoyed all the time. Life insurance is a bitch, when you're under pressure, but it can really pay off.

I see no sub for life insurance, for someone in need of loot.

We need more quick-buck, short-term thinkers in this business like a hole-in-the head.

Please find something else to do.

I agree.

He said "I hold a Life and Health and a Med Sup/LTC license."

I didn't know that one had to have a separate license to sell Med Supps and LTCi. In Missouri a Life & Health license is all that required. What was the test like for Med Supps and LTCi?

Now that I'm through with the sarcasm, how long have you been in the business? Sounds like you and your wife started selling insurance just because of the high commissions being paid for placing Advantage Plans.

Somebody sure conned you if that is why. Did you see this as a "get rich quick scheme"?

Do you have any knowledge about Med Supps or LTCi? If you do then why are you not selling those?

If you don't then I suggest you begin learning everything about them and make sure you are a genuine expert on those plans before you start messing with people's insurance. (That ain't going to happen in four months.)

If you have been in the business for several years then why are you even asking the question?

I will not sell the PFFS plans. I sell Med Supps all year and keep very busy. (Keeping busy equates to making money.)

If all you know are the MA plans then Moon gave you the most honest, best advice you will get.

"...find something else to do." We have more than enough agents who are already screwing around with seniors health insurance for the commissions being paid.

Tha NAIC has done whatever it is the NAIC does that states each state should require a specific 8 hour LTCi class and a 4 hour renewal class every two years in order to sell LTCi. Many states have now passed this as law. I know my state has. It is still a life and disability license but they have added this continuing ed requirement in order to sell LTCi.

If you think about it
With friends and family you already have a relationship there
So it can be a quick sale.
I would advise selling them a good product because if you sell the a bs plan it can come back to hurt you.

Then once you sell your friends and family ask them for refferals and go from there.

This is a quick route to building your block.

" Call all your friends and family and sell them. "

LOL - A.L. Williams actually created a few millionaires with this game plan . . .

Pennsylvania requires a 1-hour State specific LTCi course (through a CE provider), if selling LTCi partnership products. A requirement for an 8-hour CE course for all LTCi producers has been proposed. No additional or separate licensing yet.

The companies you contract with to sell these products (Unicare, Secure Horizons, Aetna, Humana, et al) have training classes online that you must first pass to be certified by them to market Medicare Advantage.

Go online and read cover to cover the 2008 Guide to Medicare Supplements for seniors. There's a couple of places to start.

As far as leads you can either buy crap shared internet leads, slightly better semi-exclusive leads, or do a mailing and use the reply cards that come back AND the list you did the mailing from to call the people and see if you can help them.

You can also just buy lists by themselves and do NO mailing at all. That is the best cost wise by far.

I assume you can just go to their websites and get appointed with them?

Any suggestions as to where you could buy these lists? You wouldn't mind sharing your personal source (perhaps in a PM)?
