It seems like Humana has been trying to implement some scare tactics in their latest insurance direct mail campaign.

Insurance agents already get a bad wrap from a lot of people, does anyone else think that this makes it worse on us ?

Don't have a copy of it, but if the feds have censured them for it, I believe it exists. Besides, Humana doesn't need any help burying themselves...

Seems like what Humana is mailing is truthful. Seems like a case of Big Brother to me.

Under the guise of promoting truthful information about Medicare Advantage, my foot. What a chickens**t tactic by the Obama lieutenants. And to think, in order to get passage, all the dems will do is put special incentives before the repub's noses and they'll fall right in line.

I'm not normally an end-justifies-the-means type person, but, anything that happens to Humana is just fine with me.

If they are not guilty of this, they have been guilty of enough other things to even things out.

Does free speech not extend to insurance carriers?

That was the sole reason for me posting the article. If a private company wants to contact it's current clients with their opinions I guess it's no longer a good idea.

Ritter posted the letter. This is ridiculous. I'm not a big fan of Humana either, but it's becoming illegal to tell the truth about Medicare--and that's a really bad thing.

It's also illegal to cold-door knock for MA and PDP plans. Throw in the stupid SOA form and "48 hour cooling off period" and it's a wonder CMS doesn't tell us when to wipe our collective asses.

And after taking tests to get certified for 2010 with a couple of companies for MA's and PDP's, the rules would put me in prison for the rest of my life the way I work.
