I Need Help Approaching Potential Referrers

Agree with RBA... Go in person and bring gifts. Right now we are handing out girlscout cookies and movie tickets (bought in bulk from Costco). Join the local Assoc of Realtors and meet some folks... follow up with an email stating your value position and then drop in on them every 6 weeks or so. Once they see you a few times you will start getting referrals.

I tried calling for a while once. Never really got anywhere trying to crash in through the phone. You would have to have a value proposition for them to catch their interest pretty quickly. I'm not sure what that would be....

Now, if you called and told them that you are trying to meet all the realtors in town, would like to buy them a cup of coffee at their convenience, they might go for it. A few would anyway. Really doesn't take much.

Again, I thank you for your feedback....You've basically told me what I already know and that is why I hesitate right before I sit down to make calls. Trying to convince someone to send me referrals without them even seeing my face is not going to be very effective. Only problem is that I am financially strapped....its time for a new tactic.

Go to the realtor marketing meetings. If you can't afford the $4-5 a week that it cost to attend, then its time for a new line of work.

Don't know where the marketing meetings are? Ask a realtor, they will tell you.

I work with several loan officers and realtors, you'd be surprised how far a dozen doughnuts and coffee goes to get their attention. Look at it this way, your $10.00 investment can land you $100 commission or more...The only time I call them by phone is to let them know that im coming over, this way i can make sure that i will get some time to show them what I do :)
