In Defense of Kwamster

I'll preface this by noting that I don't check the forum every day and perhaps only saw a couple of his threads.

That being said, it appears to me that in the flip chart thread in particular Kwamster got "pounded" because he came out swinging first. Basically it was "If you're not doing it my way, you're doing it wrong." That's bound to generate some heat. That's especially the case on a forum filled with many veteran agents, some of whom evidently felt they were being talked down to as if they are rookies.

I think the flip chart thread turned into a good thread. That's mainly because the veteran agents shared their methods. The "10 best FE companies" thread had some good info too. But I don't think it's any accident that in both threads people felt compelled to ask what he was promoting due to the way he approached things. Whether that's the case or not, to some it had the look of some kind of set up.

Having said all that, I think Newby also has a point with regard to insurance related threads often getting hijacked and taken completely off course. Either that, or the response is at times out of proportion to whatever mistakes the original poster made. Some posters seem to have something to add to the forum but instead routinely resort to non-constructive criticism. But sometimes the pounding is entirely justified. No doubt the free life insurance thread is the most famous example.

The number of posts one has or the number of years a posters been on these forums doesn't give one a free "Be a d!ck for a day" card

Flexing internet muscles is lame- or trying to convince everybody based of your posts your a super agent.

Nothing worse than having to read a sanctimonious post-
