Insurance Company termination

Yes, that is correct I was trying to describe someone who works for the company. I don't have the money for a lawyer and the one's I have talked to say based on their experience, contracts are written favoring those who write them...i.e. the insurance company. So a new agent coming aboard either signs what they give him or he doesn't get the appointment. Someone told me I should have said African-American and yet one of my friends said they would prefer black. Totally confused by all this bs. And it's not anyone of any color, religion, gender, race that I'm upset with...it's whoever came up with the very idea I was being a racist without even ever meeting me, talking over the phone, or asking anyone I associate with to get the real truth. Instead I get an email from someone I have never heard saying I was terminated due to " communication"?! The irony.
If you've been an agent for 26 years and you don't have the money for a lawyer, you're doing it wrong. That doesn't even seem possible.

Apparently they did you a big favor even though they did it in a dumb over reaction way. Go elsewhere and make big money.

I don't know you, so I cannot say you were being racist. However, in the handful of posts you have made, almost every post I recall you have been complaining & being the victim in the post. Whether it be with local people paying referral fees, getting appointed with some carrier or now this termination. From my 25+ years in the industry, I have seen very few terminations of agents outside of fraud. In all of those non fraud situations, they were all "the last straw" as all departments had lodged complaints about the agent interaction as always being hostile, condescending, rude or all of the above. Your communication may have caused it & it may not be the last item you list.

I hope for your sake this is not the case, but maybe you can reinvent yourself & move on

It is unlikely this was the only issue. Like Allen said, fraud and low production are the main reasons why a company will terminate you. You have to have thick skin to survive in this industry, you would not only get fired over calling someone black instead of african American. There are obviously other reasons. But if you were warned before and if you truly create a hostile work environment for the operations staff and have low production, sure they will terminate you. If any of my carriers terminated me today for truly bs reasons, I would be so busy contacting my clients and replacing business. I would not have time to look at this board for 6 months.

Def different today, than even last year it has been happening in other industries for years But worse in the last 4 years and much worse this year

Not strange at all

Top producer with a clean history with the carrier & piles of advocates wouldnt be terminated on a 1st incident unless it was egregious. There would be warnings. I just dont buy that this was a 1st incident. I have had several direct reports that were placed on "cannot call home office lists" because everytime they called, they were rude, demanding & no one wanted to work with them because they made every mild encounter bad for everyone, including their clients who also complained about them.

not saying this is the case here, just saying this "describing a person" doesnt seem to meet the terminate immediately level

Appreciate all the positive feedback and ideas. Will let you know what the attorney comes up with. As for complaints, I don't post to complain, I post so others can give their thoughts to help us all in the long run. This is a forum for exchanging ideas is it not? I only had 1 phone conversation with the company. Was on my 3rd policy and had just signed up. The reviews on the company confirms poor customer service. As far as complaining about kickbacks....I will continue to fight the fact it is now a bidding war with the small agencies risking their license by sliding documents to compete. Maybe old Allen Trent bids the highest? After 26 years of this maybe I need to move on as you say, but will we be addressing the real issue at hand? Are you the same person who moves out of the neighborhood instead of trying to fix the neighborhood? Maybe we should move out of the country instead of fixing it? My customers are important to me and auto is all I know. So Allen, how do you handle a customer who has cancelled because they bought a new car and signed up with Geico at the dealership late one night? Funny thing is, I would have answered my phone no matter what time. The client had 100/300 through Traveler's and they just signed up in finance @ the dealer who put them with Geico and no liability coverage so the business manager can make some back end money and Geico kickback? Really? Of course I spent another 2 hours redoing paperwork and putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. Or the client I'm working with who bought off the 1.800 so the salesperson could get his money and he didn't add comp. and collision. A week later she was at fault in a collision and has a totalled auto and owes Mr. Banker $25k?! The salesperson is part of a tent sale crew that travel the country. How many more incidents does it take Allen?

So which is more PC, Black Lives Matter or African American Lives Matter? :err:

see this is why i will not let this go away...people actually doubt this happened..that was my 2nd call ever to Safeco..there is NO history. I was just appointed. I still don't believe it happened...nor should it ever happen again to anyone of you. If we are to get along...we have to be fair and correct in our decision making. Liberty Mutual paralegal council has been watching my posts so why do they not warn me...is it because they want to sweep this under the rug? I've lost complete respect for a company I once admired and was excited to be appointed with.
