Again, how do you see yourself making a profit doing this? It just reminds me of the southpark that was on last night about the internet and the "virtual" dollars they were making. At the end of the day, does this make you money? If so, how?

We really just created the site because I didn't find one out there doing it. And I thought, hey, if I wasn't licensed and had absolutely no idea what was even out there, then would a site like this help me? Maybe just knowing what questions to ask an agent is enough of a difference in the sales process .

That is a kind of conflicting reason to build this site.
You pick that name because its high traffic. I understand that but you have taken on some risk. The risk I am talking about is if the insurance carriers learn of this site and one of their producing agents own it they could cancel your contract. So if you have a block of business you might not get paid on it.

What kind of insurance are you selling for you to start this site?

You talk about complaints against carriers. Yes there are a lot of them but good % of them can be explained by a plans contract. There is a % of true complaints that should go to litigation.

I think your site is BS and its not going to help people. Its going to scare people.

I give you an example on your site being BS. You have complaint on there for $3000.
Well I had a group plan in place with that company and had a child that was on a form life support. I was able to get round the clock nursing covered at home for the child. It was $219,000+ a year for those nurses and the company paid.

So if your going to promote your site I think you need to do some fact find on the complaints. If your not willing to do that then sell the domain name.

A friend of mine (you can email me for his name since he doesn't mind talking about it) was sued by Mega for comments he posted on a Yahoo insurance message board.

The entire trial took 2 years and cost him over $100,000.

I find this subject interesting, because it's easy to forget that these are real people and companies being talked to and about on this forum.

Two guys calling each other jerks, doesn't mean much, but when I see posts directed at some of these mammoth carriers... is the forum at risk? Not that I want it to be, I believe in free speech, but how do you monitor that?

Woman in England on vacation goes into Kidney failure. The National Health System there is unable to provide dialysis to help her (another topic no doubt).

Within 2 hours of her daughter's first telephone call to BCBS GA (where she was insured), the health insurance carrier had a medivac aircraft ready to depart to repatriate her for life-saving treatment. They were prepared to do dialysis on the aircraft.

Sadly, the National Health System "misplaced" her and she was found dead in a dingy English waiting room in a London hospital.

At my last NML annual meeting Jim Erickson was speaking and told the following story of an event that had just happened.

Father purchased life insurance on his family members. For some reason (some document NML needed) there is a hold up with his very young daughter's policy and it does not get issued. A couple of months go by and the father calls his agent to ask if they ever issued to coverage on his daughter. Agent says no, it never got completed. Father tells agent it doesn't really matter as his daughter has passed away. Agent calls NML home office about the case.

NML pulls the dormant application back into underwriting and on orders from the CEO (Erickson), is instructed to determine, based on the information available, whether or not NML could have issued coverage on the daughter.

NML reviews and retroactively issues the policy on the now-deceased daughter and immediately pays the death benefit.

Go ask Melmunch to fact check every single post with a link to someone else's content on his forum and see what he says. Tell him if he's not willing to do that then to sell the domain name.

RoR is a media source, just as links to news articles are links to the content of another website. Requiring ISP's to fact check every single piece of information on the internet or be held liable for linking to that content would seriously affect the information offerings of the internet, essentially infringing upon the free speech of ISP users.

So, no, not only is this an impossible request, it's not within my capacity nor is it within my control to determine which content on the internet is valid and which is not. Beyond that, it's not for me to say, "Your information is right, but this person's information is not right." Does that mean we should not provide links to content just because we have no capacity to verify information? No.

Users simply need to understand that our website does not guarantee the accuracy of statements contained in content linked to or submitted to our website. We make this clear to anyone visiting our site in our disclaimer and our terms of service (if creating an account). We are not a traditional news source, and we don't have a verification department that works 24/7 to review each and every source of information online.

And if carriers have a problem with this, well, they've gotta do what they've gotta do. I don't control them either.

It does. It is Rick and Winter that cause the increase! (Personally, I don't find the Maha Mantra as calming as Transcendental Mediation techniques but others do.)

That is how I see these two men. If you (sman) wish to disagree, that is fine. I have no issue with you doing that. If you wish to defend them, by all means do so. But there is a difference. I stand in public and say it. You shout from the shadows; from the darkness. People will make up their own minds about these two men and will agree with me or agree with you.
