Insuring Borrowed Car

Hoping someone is on here to answer - kids are borrowing a car from parents. Kids are married & live in their own residence. Parents do not have any insurance on the car they are loaning to the kids. Without having to add the kids to the title, have any of you written a policy where there is something in writing that gives the kids permission to insure the vehicle (like a lease but without all the formality)? Trying to think of the simple way to do this. Obviously parents will need to be an A/I on the policy as owners.

In Florida who ever's name is on the title needs to be the named insured. Careful of an e&o issue here. Good luck.

Do the 'kids' have a current policy? How long is the 'borrow' for? Will their current policy cover the loan of the car?

If you just need liability, perhaps you can do a non-owner policy. If they are going to keep the car for a while, watch out for clauses of 'regularly driven'.
