Insuring Log Homes?

Y'all may already know this but I was told about log homes vs. log siding homes. Our main company will do log siding, but not an actual log cabin. One secondary company (American Modern) will do both, our other will do neither.

A lot of log homes I would consider a "log cabin" are actually "log siding." Check on that!

MetLife here in Tennessee does insure log homes. FYI.

Yes, "True" Log homes, Siding and Structural are becoming more difficult to insure.

My guess is that (as has already been stated) they can be more difficult to repair AND Log homes probably have a higher tendency to be homeowner built.

Log homes got near impossible to insure after the large fire in Pigeon Forge, TN in 2013 and 2016
