Is anyone else concerned about the push for Medicare for All?

Medicare for All, or M4A, seems to be VERY popular, even among some people that one wouldn't expect. I recently began working in th
is market and I'm worried. Based on the current proposal, Sanders and Warren would ban private health insurance. That's a lot of jobs that will go away. A lot of agents will have either a large reduction in income or will have zero. I haven't seen much discussion on this, as if no one thinks it will actually happen, but to me it seems more and more likely. Have any of you began looking into other lines or other industries?

It's campaign talk, nothing more.

As an agent, it doesn't bother me at all.

As a citizen of the United States, yes it scares me to death.

Debt doesnt matter, just look at the stock market lunacy. $100 trillion at negative interest rates is peanuts.

The existence of our govt provides me with job security. More confusion.....leads to more opportunity to educate.

Obamacrap was a BFD (open mic).

If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, yada, yada, yada . . .

70% of folks under 65 have group insurance plans. How many of those would give up their plan?

Not many unless they buy into Bernie's pitch.

No premium.

No copays

Use any doctor

Free dental and vision.

Bernie must be reading the MA solicitations flooding mailboxes now.

Anyone who believes this crap needs to have their head examined.

Free mental health care anyone?

I don't take anything or anyone lightly. It's always best not to underestimate anything. I'm very good at judging social temperatures and attitudes, and this doesn't seem to be too popular of an idea. You'll find a ton of support for it amongst the foaming-at-the-mouth Socialist/Communist wing of the Democrats, but there are a ton of moderate Democrats that just won't go for it, and essentially can't, because they're in swing districts. Too big of risk. I want to see them tell everyone who has a work-provided plan that it's being yanked away for a government plan. Yea, that's gonna go over really well. lol.

Constant education is needed by us, in order to let everyone know how horrible an idea it is. Obamacare has been a pretty epic failure. By my estimation, it's only really benefitted (depending on how you look at it) about 30% of the population. The plans aren't very good, so the only ones really benefitting are those people that are in states where Medicaid has been expanded. They're getting "free" healthcare on the backs of their fellow taxpayers (a "thank you" would be nice).

But in reality, did they REALLY benefit? Many doctors, specialists, and hospitals don't take Medicaid, and that number keeps shrinking. This is because the government reimburses them peanuts, and they pay WAY later. This leads to quality doctors exiting the Medicaid realm. Which leads to quality of care taking a nose dive. All-in-all, government doesn't run anything efficiently, because they simply don't care. All of them have job security. There's nothing to lose. No incentive to do good work.

You like to throw around the word socialism and associate it with communism without even knowing what you are talking about.

The ACA was broken not by Obama but the actions taken by Republicans to dismantle it rather than try to make it work or offer improvements.

Private health insurance companies routinely deny claims which increases the costs.

Don't worry there will alway be a place for private insurance. Medicare does not cover it all. You might have a larger market for med supp. They will have people pay a portion just to keep the costs down. Same reason they are getting rid of Plan F.

Also you can always flip to some other product that is not covered by Medicare.
