You are going to pay for a direct mail piece for
about $20.00 a piece. So why wouldn't you go and get.a 120 percent or higher contract and be done.

While I think $20 is low (usually $25 to $30) based on your own mailings, this is the exact reason why a lot of producers do their own mailers. If you are green it makes sense to let someone else bear the brunt of the lead costs, but if you are seasoned and have some money to mail, it is almost always in your best interest to do your own. The one exception may be if you are on the top of the food chain at one of these IMO's and getting cheap to free leads.

You are only going to pay $20 for a direct mail piece from your own mail if you bet better than a 2% return. if you can get that kind of return then you should do it yourself and get higher contracts.

The best deal I know of right now if the one Newby and Travis are putting together. I'm not sure but I believe the leads are $28 each and 120% contracts.

I don't think it's in full operation yet.

Here it would cost me $60 per lead if I did my own mail. That's why I don't.

Personally it seems to make the most sense to me for someone else to do the direct mail. An agent should spend their time selling not doing the back office stuff as much as possible.
