Is Pre-paid Legal Worth Offering As an Add-on to Any Type of Insurance?

I'd skip it if I were you. Do you really want to associate your primary business with them? The last thing you need is your clients canceling their PPL memberships because they realize they aren't using it. Or how about this, they use it for a month to get the free Will then they cancel. Now you get a chargeback. Man, it ain't worth it for me. Spend your time selling insurance.

Lots you know.PPL clients love it. I love people who can not cut it.

Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc.

I think your service is great. I have always had a very low opinion of attorneys but you guys have absolutely changed my mind about your attorney user-friendly relationship with your clients.

As per my post above it's best to get the facts and make a decision. At the very least you can offer your clients the Identity theft plan. One other option is you can sign up for a plan and test it out yourself. It's a month to month plan that you can try for at least $16.00 a month. If you feel it has value then just signup and offer the plans.

As for chargebacks that universal. Sell the need. There is some major business being done on the group side. People are having legal issues not to mention all the stuff going on with foreclosures and loan modifications.

PPL is a NYSE company (PPD) so you can go to yahoo finance and pulll them up. Take notice of the investors who own the stock. I'm not saying that is a selling point, but it does say something. There are people who have alot more at stake with the company who see the benefits of owning (stock) part of the company.

There are some people who just can't afford to pick up a phone and call speak to a Law Firm when they have a legal question. The PPL plans DO NOT cover evey legal situation. They are designed to give people access to the legal community. They allow people to consult with an Attorney to help prevent something small turning into a mountain. It is what it is.

I heard that PPL is suing a competitor offering a similar product because the competitor asked 10,000 bogus questions of PPL legal attorneys. The defense was that PPL was saying they were a better service than the competitor so that there was nothing wrong in doing this.

I wouldn't call PPL an add on. It is a stand alone product that can be cross sold to current policy holders. ID theft is going to get bigger and bigger as crime increases due to increased unemployment. If nothing else get the ID Theft Shield. Hands down great product.
