Is There a Future in Health Insurance Sales Anymore?

This always tickles me.

When internet sales of insurance came into existence, we were supposed to be out...

When banks were allowed to sell life insurance, we were supposed to be out....

Until this bill is implemented, and we know the minimum standards, it's not possible to predict the agent's role, or the impact on income from the sale of health insurance.

Funny analogy Full Throttle. As for me, I'm going back to school full time and if I can still make a living selling insurance, then so be it. Best of luck to all you guy's and gal's!

With a mandated loss ratio the question may be will there be enough points for health insurance manufactures to support the traditional distribution channel? Or will they go online where their acquisition cost will be less? Then the traditional major medical may become an ancillary product rather than a primary product.

If that becomes the case then the strategy may be package selling like the p/c business. Major med/term (mortgage)/CI for underage, Med Sup/Final Expense/CI/LTC for senior market.

Regardless will be interesting.

Chicken little the sky is falling. Im going back to my roots in medicare while I build an as earned book to pay for kids playtime. Im pissed about this b/c Im good at what I do but only got in this game a year and half ago using advances.

If you have wife that makes good money go for it. If you support the family then start looking to diversify.
