Juvenile Policy

I have a similar situation, however the juvenile involved has diabetes. I'm new to FE and this would be my first experience writing a juvenile policy. Any suggestions???

I have contracts with Monumental, RNA,UHL, and American Amicable.

More imput. Age 1 or 19 100 units of insulin or oral meds. Multiple amputations or no complications?

Couple schools of thought. One will be just get them covered for finale expense. The other, recognize that this child will grow to adult and may/probably be in worse health. Probably going to have a wife and children. Get him as much as you can today even if some of it is term.

Just my 2 cents

Thanks Wino, So far all I know is they have a child with diabetes and they want to get coverage. The mom told me this over the phone and I don't get into details over the phone, just set the appointment. Although in this case as soon as I hung up I realized I should have asked.:embarrassed:

Load the kid up with all the coverage you can. Particularly convertible term or perm with GPO. Of course, depending on the diabetes, you may have a very hard time finding coverage.

Whats GPO?

Balt still SUCKS....Fyi!

Guaranteed Purchase Option. Basically the right to buy additional insurance at specified future dates without proof of insurability. There are usually some stipulations such as when these opportunities occur and often you surrender some or all future options if you don't exercise a current one. Some are nice in that you get one early if you have a child.

It all comes down to the individual rider on these, it can be all over the board. About the only thing in common is there is no health underwriting. There may be financial underwriting, but usually they aren't large enough to trigger financial concerns. Max 50k at a time or less is common.

Gleaner Life Insurance has a program called "Just for Kids".

The JFK program is a one time single premium of $125 for children 0-17. The policy is renewable and convertible at age 18.

Single Premium $125
10,000 coverage

Its the easiest childs policy I have ever written!!
