Find someone who is good that you trust and get the referral fee. You can't be good at insurance and dauble in everything else.
 
I incorporated financial services as a additional service offered to my 10yr + database of real estate clients, 2 yrs ago.
I have seen my Real Estate business increase tremendously. I am able to sit in front of alot more prospects as a financial advisory as opposed to being a real estate agent. So I have gotten a bunch more referrals and consequently sold a lot more houses as a byproduct. I think the two go really well together.
