Second how did you determine that Guiliani and Christie would not be there? I believe it's called observation and reasoning. I don't have voices telling me what is happening nor do I have inside knowledge but it's just reasoning if you pay attention to details.
You and as I see Barney have missed the point. Counselor to the president has never been an official position up until Nixon. Also when you look at past counselors or advisors to the president, none of them had the same role. As a matter of fact Plouffe and Axelrod, who you mentioned did not even have the same role for the same administration with the same president even though the title was the same.
So sure Barney she got a top position but what will she be doing in that position? Sure Winter she has a top position but why wasn't she offered that top position before and why was she offered a lower position in which she had to decline?
