Leads to sale ratio

$180 k times 80% persistency is $146 k . 20 leads a week to do that is $32 k so down to $114k . Family health ins is $18 k a yr . Down to $96 k . Gas driving 600 miles a week is $50 a week min . Down to $93 k . Car maintenance for driving so much $2 k a yr . $91 k . Extra fica tax of .7.65% $6500 . Down to $85 k . Other exp's like e&o and office stuff $2 k a yr . $83 k net . Zero retirement or long term disability . That's worth $ 20 k a yr . No Sick days , vacation days . Like I've said this is why people start recruiting. That's were the moneys at . You better be doing $250 k a yr min .

I would say you need to get a new accountant who can get you some breaks. I take vacations and sick days at will. Took a month off in October of 2020 and headed down south to visit family and do some business. I go to bed with my boss every night. We are down to our last on homeschooling so I've spent more time with my children than most parents would ever dream. I have coffee with my family almost every morning before work starts.

I guess we might be looking at the same glass different ways.

The down side is that I wake up unemployed everyday... and my boss is sleeping right beside me. ;)

Lol, my downside to being self employed is my boss is a jerk, he's always yelling at me, and he always knows when I skip out to go to the cigar lounge, lol.

10 leads at $30 a lead your not making at least 2 sales and really 3 you won't be in the business long after charge backs, lead costs , full fica taxes of 15.3%, vehicle repair and maintenance costs , your own benefits like health insurance . I'll be honest . Unless you're doing $150 k min premium at 120% min commission id find another line of sales work . I'd look at medical supply rep . Benefits worth $40 k for a person with a family .
What percentage of agents do you think are writing $180k per year? I would be willing ro say it is 10% or less.

Dm leads
I mailed 6-7 months out. 1k mailing got 22 reply cards.
Called each 6 times different times if day. 17 dont answer, return calls. Sent text messages 1 response.
My last order of direct mail leads for FE was for a 1000 piece drop. I received a total of 1 (one) reply card. The vendor mailed another 1000 for me in adifferent area. So far. I have received 0 (zero) replies. Is that some kind of record?

It's less that 10% of course . Only 5-8% last 2 yrs . I'd say 2-3% . But the truth is to make a decent living with a family and net $150k you need to be doing $220-$250 k . My humble opinion anyways

I am not talking about churn bait. I am talking about established agents. Even out of those, I doubt more than 10% write $180k in first year commission.
