"Let me know" (I hate this phrase)

Call them, don't leave messages unless they leave messages for you, e-mail them to call you but don't ask questions online, only in person. repeat e-mail is if you don't have time to call them or they didn't want the insurance but you have it on auto until they unsubscribe.

Call them and ask, have you put any consideration into our discussion?

Health Insurance isn't like selling life insurance, often they push me along and ask for the app. after I answered all their questions.

You need to read some books about sales maybe. Remember how you asked them questions in the beginning why they wanted insurance in the first place? Take that answer; whether it's - having a baby, lost my job - scared no insurance, haven't had in awhile worried about the unknown - whatever... bring it full circle and say; well "bob" you said your wife has been bugging you about getting health insurance then go straight to the app - don't ask.

All good advice.

Let me preface my post with something. I do meet most of my clients face to face to do the requirements gathering and I just plain old like to meet them. This is key to me since I'm also Series 7/66, I want to have a face-to-face trust relationship to continue the relationship past insurance. It's long term thinking.

I think most of the issues that I have are with people who either aren't ready or aren't going to do it...ever. I stay on top of my client's needs and respond very quickly...I guess I can't really expect that same level of attentiveness in return...nor should I.

I just found myself falling into that 'let me know' trap and was looking for a way out. Thanks for all the suggestions...!

Let me know if you think that's a good way to go about it... ;) :D

My little secret on finding out best possible ways to do anything in the insurance industry is to find out what other TOP agents and agencies are doing.

For example I contacted by regional Blue Cross sales rep and asked her which independent agent not agency writes the most business for Blue Cross. She told be the agents website url and told me that he writes 30 aps per DAY :err::huh: with Blue Cross (thats right per day, per one day)

That got my attention I went to his website and submitted my info with fake # to get an idea what he does, emails, mail , etc....

Also great source of knowledge is eHealth, go to their website and pretend like you are applying for health insurance and see what kinds of email they are emailing to you. I dong give a &%^$# what anybody says about ehealth one thing I know any agency that has quarterly NET revenue of over $60 million is definitely doing something right. Model their letters copy their system. Good Luck

STOP REINVENTING THE WHEEL!!!!

I am not totally opposed the internets and the e-mails and such, I'm usually exagerrating a little- about being old school. I had a url through norvax. Did not get much action out of it. I may have been doing something wrong. Anybody have norvax experience? What is this guy doing correct that is getting 30 apps a day? jeez, he is getting the traffic on over to his url somehow, that's for sure!

One of my clients who is also a friend, and who tried to buy health ins from me through my site, told me people in general may want to go to the site to get quotes and info only, but that they may still prefer a visit in person to actually buy.
