Licensing School Advice

I'm just getting into the insurance business and my recruiter recommended ad banker for prelicensing courses. She did not specify whether I should use online or classroom.

Does anyone have any input on which is better?

I'm in Ohio by the way

For me web based is hands down what I prefer. I have only taken one paper class and that was before it was offered on computer. I have never attended a classroom for any securities or insurance license. I hate those classes. A lot of wasted time.

Internet for me to that is the way I did it. Class is so boring its makes you so tired that going home any study just anit happenin.

ONLINE. No, seriously, online. That frickin' 40 hour class was the worst 2 weekends of my entire life. It didn't help that I'd been in the industry for 5 years and taken about a gazillion LOMA and American College CLU tests before going to the 40 hour class. Even if that hadn't been the case, that class would have been miserable.

People learn at different rates. If you learn reeeaaaalllllll slow, go to class. If you learn fast, keep your sanity and take it online.

Oh AND the other bad part about the class was all the other people taking it who spoke endlessly about the millions they were sure to make upon graduation. People who could barely tie their own shoes. All talk....I hate people like that. Blerg.

Oh my gosh, I'm shaking right now. I think I have PTSD.

They are probably all retired by now! ;):nah:

When learning anything new, REPETITION IS KEY. When I went for my pre-license training, I attended a classroom setting course. The only thing I could remember by the time I was done were the topics we discussed within the last hour of class. When I re-read the book, most of the topics seemed like they were highlighted by someone else, and I had to relearn them.

A.D. Banker is a fine school regardless of venue, but I would certainly recommend the online course. In addition, you will probably save a few bucks as well!

I did the AD Banker online (also in ohio), all of about 3 months ago. I got through the whole thing in about 4 days, but I take lots of notes (ie I wrote everything on the screen down), so it can probably be done (much) faster. It is a very good program and as long as you take it seriously it will do a good job preparing you for the state exams.

Who is recruting you by the way?

Heads up - check with your Dept of Insurance - some states do not allow on-line classes for pre-licensing training!
