Want to know a secret? If you want to talk to more people and sell more you might want to lighten up a bit.
I am constantly tweaking my "pitch", my emails, my voice mail messages, etc. in hopes of finding something to separate me from the herd. One thing that has always worked is finding a way to get people to like me.
No one wants to buy from someone they don't like.
I always seek to find some common ground and start from there. It's relatively easy to do once you get a chance to open up a dialogue.
Getting things started, especially with internet leads, is the real challenge.
Here is something I have been doing for about 2 weeks and it is working better than anything else.
I know i-leads get hammered as soon as they hit the submit button. The calls come one after another for the next 2 - 3 days to the point they just stop answering the phone.
Everyone who provides a valid email address get's a proposal from me with a cover letter. The first line of my cover is this.
"Are you ready to scream yet?"
I know they are so this helps to establish some common ground. When I call the first line after introducing my self is to ask "are you screaming yet?".
That usually breaks the ice.
Give it a shot. It can't hurt.
You are welcome . . .
