Lincoln just axed one of the bigger telesales agency’s

As of January 27th there is no more cold calling or aged leads.
Cold calling will never die! (as long as there are still landline subscribers.) You just have to go old school. Copper land line. Western Electric touch tone phone with the dial tone. And nowadays you gotta give good voicemail. Live ones. No more voicemail drops.

Well, you keep dialing away then. As long as you've got a bunch of money for the fines and all you'll be just fine.

Do cold calls and working aged leads really get authorities' attention? I've had some killer weeks working 2+ year old leads. Worst objection I ever got on an aged lead was, "Where the hell have you been?" or "Yeah, I needed insurance two years ago, I got it, my health has really declined since then and so no thanks." On a cold call, which I've never really done, but I have gone to the wrong address once in a while, I've written some huge policies. Never gotten any kind of pushback more than "Doesn't live here anymore."

Calling people on the do not call without express permission has been against the law for over 30 years. 1991 to be exact.

The call centers get around the law because the companies want them protected.

But many millions have been paid by sole proprietors and smaller IMO's for violating the TCPA.

Shit rolls downhill. You need to know where you are on that hill.

There are those out there that will turn you in or sue you in a heartbeat for cold calling them, especially being on the DNC. I have seen this and have had to deal with it. Not once have I ever heard of an agent getting dinged due to an aged lead. I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but I just have never heard of it happening.

So, I know for a fact that I wouldn't be cold calling after the 27th, but as for the aged lead thing...hmmm, that's one to ponder. Of course, all it would take is one time getting caught and you won't do it again! (unless you're just plain stupid).
