I am starting out part time, but have 3 solid, consecutive, days per week to dedicate to this business. I just feel that I need a decent appointment setter to help me maximize the time that I do have. If anyone has any suggestions, please post or PM me. Thanks a bunch!

Good luck!

If you can find someone with experience you'd be very lucky. There are a number of threads that have discussed the issue at length and the reality is finding and managing a good telemarketer is more work than simply doing it yourself.

It's actually not that difficult to find someone with telemarketing experience. I have used Craigslist and Indeed.com

Interview several people and be picky...

Appt setting 101...

First off, learn to do this yourself. Once you are proficient then you can teach someone else how to do this. Lets face it, if you are just starting out you have loads of time to prospect or set appts (depending on how you are obtaining info and what system you are using). Agents often times like to job-out what they don't like to do and consequently they never become good at the job totally. Admitedly, once you have more experiece, by all means job these things out... but not to start or you will short-change your skill development; IMHO.

I got this same advice last year when I was new....I accepted it & did it myself. I never became great at it although Im a lot better...but I realized by years end, 65-70% of my biz was coming from door knocking. I wanted to reverse that this yr, I have higher goals & need to use my time more wisely.

So this yr I got an appt setter....her 1st day was yesterday, she set 5 appts for me today (Ive never had 5 in 1 day before). So we will see how it goes with her no-show % & my conversion %....Im expecting my no-show & conversion % to be the same as if I had set it, which was pretty good!

After 2 weeks or so, Ill give an evaluation of how things are going!

I tried a appointment setter one time and it did not go well. At the time I did not know whether to blame it on the time of year, right after thanksgiving or on setter herself. I had many missed appointments and several people caller the setter back to cancel.

I have seen it work for many people but it did not seem to work for me. I like knowing when I go to a home what I am going into. I don't like surprises.

I would add that the setter came with good references and seemed very educated and seemd also to have her **** together. She spoke very well on the phone.

TDF don't expect the no shows and %ages to be the same as if you set them. The appointment setter may be better at setting appointments than you, so you may automatically have a lower conversion ratio at first.

The fact that you never got good at appt setting isn't the important thing. What is important is that YOU DID IT... You know what it takes to do so. I would be like trying to explain to someone how to drive a car if you've never driven one yourself. Much easier if you've been behind the wheel and taken her around the block even just a few times.

As to the comment of NFL... I fully agree. I actually like to have spoken with the prospect on the phone during the appt being set. There is some small amount of rapport built then, or at least a level of understanding of who or what you will be dealing with. Not that you can't do it otherwise, but I guess I prefer having spoken with them first, it alters my approach to them, which seems to work well from case to case. I do hope that it works for you having an appt setter, as it can and does work well for many... again, just one of many ways to be successful in this business.
