Client moved to GA from DE. Disabled son (age 28) lives with client. Losing DE Medicaid 9/30. Got email today asking for help.

GA has specific rules for qualifying for Medigap if you are on SSDI and Medicare. Only situations I have seen are those just going on A & B where GA treats that as initial enrollment for 6 months. After that you must be underwritten.

Waiting on answers from client. Assume they have tried and failed to get him qualified for Medicaid here.

Trying to find out if GA says loss of Medicaid is an SEP.

Medigap outrageously high here for U65 plus carriers pay zilch. I usually refer then to UHC but this kid is too young for AARP membership.

Can probably get MAPD if SEP is allowed (and I assume it will be). Can get MAPD during AEP for next year if SEP not allowed.

Suggestions?

Thanks. Not sure they want to move again. If they do, can you recommend a good agent?

I have heard of SMAN. Don't have all the details but he may get this referral.
