Losing Rankings hurts!

I was ranked number one for a key term for over 6 months. That ranking represented 45% of my traffic. I dropped 3 spots and the qualified leads dropped from 90+ to about 30 a month.

Does anyone have any experience with this and if so how long did it take to rebound? I am going on 2 months now and have made a lot of changes to the site.

Added a first wave of true social media. I am thinking about hiring someone to admin the social media front for me. Anyone have success with this?

Losing this rank has been a huge blow to my individual sales this month.

why not add a PPC campaign? If the site is ranking top 3 you should do really well.

I have learned enough about link building to make myself dangerous. I used a much more formal tool and it turned out I have many quality links.

Going forward everyone has a different technique for top rankings.

It all comes down to how much you want to pay.

PPC does not make any sense for Individual sales.

The more I learn about SEO the more questions I have.

Ironically, you can mess with it, do the wrong things and even drop another few positions. And I agree - the more I research SEO the more of a migraine I get.

SEO opinions are like belly buttons. Everyone has one and everyone thinks theirs is the best.

Yahoo site explorer has you at 45...sorry my bad....still need more... but really there is no tool that can show you every link to your site out there.....

I used a much more formal tool and it turned out I have many quality links.

I disagree with your statement above that PPC doesnt make sense for Individual sales.

PPC does make sense for Individual Sales.
I'm living proof.

How do you think ehealth became so successful?

I understand everyone wants " Free Advertising " and some here have mastered this technique but dont discount a good PPC campaign. I see a combination of both Organic/Free Clicks with a top notch PPC campaign as being the ultimate scenario.

Best Wishes
