Losing Rankings

Yahoo site explorer has you at 45...sorry my bad....still need more... but really there is no tool that can show you every link to your site out there.....

I have over 1000
It also can viewed at over 4500. My domain names have changed over the years but they all direct to the current.

The tools that you are using are not correct. There is some thought in the SEO world that those tools are data miners collecting info for the search engines. Try SEO Software. Simplified. | SEOmoz

PA that is very interesting.
I would like to hear what kind of sales you had with a PPC?
How much did you spend and how much premium did you write?

I disagree with your statement above that PPC doesnt make sense for Individual sales.

PPC does make sense for Individual Sales.
I'm living proof.

How do you think ehealth became so successful?

I understand everyone wants " Free Advertising " and some here have mastered this technique but dont discount a good PPC campaign. I see a combination of both Organic/Free Clicks with a top notch PPC campaign as being the ultimate scenario.

Best Wishes

PPC is like Vegas if you don't know what you are doing. Unless you know how to research the right key words to drive BUYING traffic you are pissing your money away.

Of course if you do know how to pick the right key word phrases, you probably don't need PPC.

How many pages do you have on the site?

How many different keywords do you target?

Add more pages that target other related keywords. Even if you never get your top ranking back, but you can still get more traffic if you add more pages and do a good job SEOing those pages.

Add a new page and wait for it to be indexed. Then add another. Each page should target one keyword, but all keywords should be semantically related.

It is work, but it works.

Alston from a previous post, I understand a few years back you were spending upwards of 20k per month on PPC. What is your current montly budget for PPC and has your budget dropped due to stiffer competition or commission cuts.

@pahealthquotes

My PPC budget is now about $5,000 a month. I dropped it mainly because of stiffer competition.

I should state that my PPC budget includes the budget for my agency (my son and me) and my lead gen (affiliate) business.

Lower commissions from the companies that buy my leads has had more of an impact than the lower commissions we're getting for health insurance sales.

The agency's leads are about 80% from SEO at this point.

Hi ABC,

If you have lost your first place ranking a few things could have happened.

1. Your competition could have started building more links or hired a SEO firm. ( Most Likely)
2. Google has updated their algorithm 4 times this past year and could be effecting some of the links that you had built.
3. If you have purchased links in the past they have more then likely been devaluated.

Are you actively building links to your site? Is your content optimized for the keywords you are ranking for? Also whats the URL of your site? I'd like to take a look at it and see if there is something obvious that need to be changed.

Best,

Darren
