We had one die yesterday. We just switched her supp effective Dec. 1 from one of our carriers to another. I bet AnTex is loving me for that one. Shoulda let Sterling Inv. have that hit.
Earlier this month we had one kick off that had a supplement with us. We originally got him with a FE sale and later got his supp. They only kept the FE for four months and stopped paying premiums due to money issues. Chesapeak issued him a paid up cert for $3.51. Of course that has been years ago and after he died I assisted his wife with filing the claim. Personally I forgot that it was only 3.51 face, but we filed the claim, she got the check and of course called me bitching. I was like... what'd you expect for a policy you kept for four months and stopped paying on over four years ago?
Reminds me of a daughter that found a life policy of mine in her mother's file. Called asking about the claim process. I had to tell her that her father only paid one quarterly premium so there is no claim. No crap... she asked: "Can we pay the back premiums and get the life insurance?" I hope she didn't hear the muffled giggle.
Oh yea... all you have to do is pay a few hundred dollars on a policy your parents didn't honor and you'll get $10,000. That's the way it works.... ummm NO.
Ok.... I'm cynical and tired. AEP... go to hell.
