M.i.b.

That was my thought, but I went round and round with underwriting and they were not going to give a reason to me or the client. Very strange.

They won't to you, but they have to give the client a reason. It may be mailed though. Also, I seem to recall that you are not allowed to decline based off the MIB. Now, they may mark it incomplete as they cannot reconcile what the MIB says and what he and the app are saying. I've had that happen before.

Tell the client to call the DOI if they refuse to send him a letter telling why.

I have a client who was rejected by a FE carrier because of a M.I.B. report. Their underwriters for the carrier stated that they cannot give out the reason for the decline, to me or the client. The client must contact M.I.B. I called M.I.B. and only heard prompts. Apparently to find out the reason for the decline, the client has to submit the rejection letter from the carrier along with a M.I.B. Disclosure form. To obtain the disclosure form, the client must send a request to M.I.B..

There must be a better way. Any suggestions?

Have the client sign a request for the information. Fax it to the head of underwriting. Ask that they email it to the client. Have them forward it to you. Most likely the prospect has an idea what is in there.

That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't make them my go to company. Just use when really needed.
