Allstate is sending out great mailers in my area - they are hand addressed envelopes with stamps. Once you open the envelope it has a quote letter. On the page the quote is circled in pen and handwriting is all over the place. The handwriting is likely the same for every quote they send out so they just copy that on but the kicker is at the very top they actually hand write the recipients name. The only way I could tell is that the handwriting for the name is different than the rest of the handwriting.
I'm guessing they are using that "roboagent" that Schwetty mentioned. I wish we had something similar to send out mass quotes... that is the key - automating for cost cutting but personalizing just enough to boost the open rate. Very clever.
