Start with these. Personally, I have a carefully structured way of asking for referrals, I don't just blindside them with an ask for referrals at the end of the appointment like most agents.

Any sales appointment I walk away with less than 3 or 4 referrals I consider a failure, and I go back to my office and try to figure out what I did wrong. Many sales appointments I walk away with more than 10 referrals on the spot.
 
10 referrals? Wow that's badass. You should at least ask for 1. I find when they are paying you its the easiest time to ask. They are in a trusting mindset when they are handing you money.
