Marketplace Fiasco

Here is a quite comprehensive review of the Marketplace debacle:
$93M ObamaCare website may face months of glitches, experts warn | Fox News

"In my opinion, intermittent, but not fatal, problems will persist for some time – perhaps even until December 15," Edwards said.

Mr/Ms AMENESES,
I posted the article in this thread http://www.insurance-forums.net/for...orm-forum/status-healthcare-gov-t58129-4.html a few hours ago.

Please try not to start an entirely new thread in this forum to share a news story that everyone who hasn't been in a coma this week already assumes and knows anyway. Thank-you in advance.

Allen, halloween isn't for a few more weeks. Put away the Forum cop costume for a while. Not everyone has time to read and memorize every post made. We all need open information flow right now. Duplication, especially for some agents on this board, is not a bad thing. C'mon buddy, let your hair down sometimes.

Only 1 of the little sheep looks up to listen.
Everyone else keeps eating the bulls.t they're being fed.
Cute.

The true fiasco is how the Obama administration ignored the successful Medicare.gov website and plan search in favor of a system that will never work, no matter how long they tweak it.

I just went to www.medicare.gov and inside of 1 minute have a list of every Medicare plan available in my zip code. 1 MINUTE!. There is no personal information to submit whatsoever.

I spent 2 hours with a client on www.healthcare.gov and never saw a single plan, all we did was try to get her identity 'proofed'.

There are 29 million Medicare beneficiaries on Medicare Advantage plans nationally as well as millions more on Part D plans. Somehow everyone gets to review plans and make changes in a 7 week period each year and each of these applications is reviewed and approved by CMS.

We now have a system for less new applicants than Medicare that is completely useless, I can only surmise that is because we have an administration that is more interested in collecting personal information than actually getting someone enrolled in a plan.

I've been a lifelong Democrat and while I didn't vote for Obama in 2012 because of some of the aspects of ACA never believed that the system for enrolling people would be corrupted for political gain. I've now changed my mind, this is just wrong.

Well a glimmer of hope. As I stated in either this thread or another, completed application on Monday Oct 8th, received 2 emails that night but could not get back in, just read the emails once they accepted log in (nope they did not change pw) It was an eligibility for a subsidy, which was pretty nice for my wife. Then went into to marketplace to shop as the letter stated, this is not worked out yet apparently. There is no place to shop, only continue with application, so thought this might be it. Nope when clicking on that it says you already have an application in progress. I could not find where to go to find plans. Maybe we are getting there.

You are so right FLM they should have set it up just like Medicare.

Allright Blue heck keep up the good work at the pace you're knocking it down you should be able to enroll at least 4 people this OEP:D

FYI,

I was able to get on the site and enrolled this morning. Waiting on "confirmation", we'll see. Also enrolled some of my family members. Appears to working better today.
