I understand much better than "they" think I do. I also understand what I told sman, that a number of posters have been thinking about the practical result of the language in the CMS rule for so long, that they now mistake the practical result for the actual language of the rule.
You mentioned 30-40 year folks in another post, I understand that I need to respect experience. However when I am told stuff that is incorrect and then told I have to believe it because of the experience of the speaker-that crosses the border from respect for experience into synchophancy, which I am not going to do.
I regret that that has cost me Chasm and vic's goodwill. (and yours too, if that is the case. While "saving my life" is a bit strong, you did something quite significant for me that no one else on the site has done.)
It is also entertaining that I finally thought to do what I have seen you tell some new agents to do: READ THE PLAN. Besides discovering that there was an ID card I'd not bothered to give my Dr and that I'd had a 30 day free look last Dec
, I found that the part B deductible was specifically mentioned in section G, additional benefits as a covered benefit for this plan.The even more entertaining thing about reading the plan, is that I discovered if I was receiving this plan to give to a customer, I would need to do exactly what Rick said, "talk to my upline", because it's written in such a way that the answer to sai's question in this thread is not exactly clear! (although the answer has to be that the carrier follows CMS guidelines.)
The other entertainment from the thread goes to Rick's appearance and your appearance with a comment about training. I have seen several recommendations of Rick's training the last couple of months. I also think I have seen it hooked with Frank Stastny. I was finally deciding that I should just overlook some of the past issues which I have had with him and use that training for a bit. It costs $19.95 a month for site access so I was starting to think about a 5 month medicare study project centered around what ever info it is that is on his site that everybody thinks so highly of. I figure I would have to give a cr card number to get that site access. Rick recently made a comment in some thread of something to the effect that this was self serving but some folks offer training. I actually spent time looking for that this afternoon so I could post in there and ask the good insurance agent question, if he gives releases when his customers run out of money-so I'd know I could define a stop point and not keep getting billed. Then he shows up here, just like a shark. One thing I most certainly do not have to do is to spend money to put up with this c&&&, so I will go back to looking elsewhere for training. Newby seems to suggest that getting the basics is not as time consuming as some would suggest.

You tend to over think and that complicates things. As far as your ID card, you don't need to show it to your Dr., except to show him that you have a Medicare Supplement. He files with Medicare, and Medicare sends the claim to Medico. Even if your Dr. doesn't know who you have insurance with, Medico will get the claim because when you took their Med Supp, they forwarded your Medicare Claim # to Medicare and let them know to send all your claims to them.
Again, you're wrong about you having Plan F. You have High Deductible F. If you look in the Outline Of Coverage that you got when you took your HDF out(the one with the columns), at the back it shows each plan they sell in more detail. After Plan F, the next plan they show is High Deductible F. Two different Plans, that's why they're listed seperately and described seperately, because they're two different plans.
You're correct that technically your HDF will pay the Part B deductible, but I don't see how that would be possible. As FLM pointed out, you could go in the hospital twice and the $1,316 Part A deductible(twice) would take of the HDF's $2,200 deductible. Problem is, you can't be in the hospital without having Part B charges. If your Dr. comes by to read your chart...that's a Part B charge. If you have surgery...that's a Part B charge. So as you can see, you can't meet your deductible without incurring Part B charges. Also, the deductible for Foreign Travel isn't applied to your $2,200 plan deductible. Bottom line, your HDF will never pay your Part B deductible.
You don't have to respect experience...respect has to be earned, but "most" of the agents that have posted have my respect from reading their posts, it's easy to see that they know what they're talking about. Most people that have 30-40 years experience understand Medicare and how it works very well from dealing with it and having had to fix things when unusual things happen.
As for paying $20 a month for training, there are 2 sites on the board and neither on has my respect. The one you mentioned is nothing but a smart ass, and after he insulted you why would you want to put money in his pocket. The other site flat out lied to you when trying to sell you a policy and showed you attitude. Again, why would you want to put money in their pocket. You'd be better off putting that $20 a month towards getting your license. Some of the companies have training on their websites. As Newby said, it's not that complicated and with your intelligence, you should have no problem learning.
You just need to stop making things too complicated. If you go into as much detail with a prospect as you do on here you'll put them to sleep and if they can stay awake, you'll confuse them. You need to describe the plans as simply as possible. For instance, if you're showing them Plan F, you tell them that as long as Medicare approves the service/charges Plan F will pay the balance. Simple as that.
SAI's question is legit and should make you think. The 1st time you go to the Dr. this year, will your HDF pay your $183 Part B deductible?
As far as *ick's comment, the 2nd half of his comment was aimed at me.

So when I show you that HDF is no more plan F than Plan G is plan F, and other s show you , I know you have to see it, Than it just comes off as if you are just being argumentative.

Do you have a problem with how much Somarco posts? I average 3 more posts a day than Bob. Do you have a problem with how much Wino posts? I average 4 more posts per day than Lee. It's not hard to post 10 times in in a thread if you're actually participating, rather than posting the occasional snarky comment that you're known for.

(Thrust behind that question. I am totally new to Medicare. The only claim history I have ever had is a flu shot in Dec. I am currently embarked on a totally unanticipated "chain" of evaluations and treatments which I think will work out to something like a family doc visit, a specialist visit, a specialist surgery, 1-2 followon visits and a piece of durable medical equipment. I can respond with assumptions now, or 8 weeks from now-give or take, I can respond based exactly on how Medico handled the chain of events.)
