I had a person call me who is under 65 on SSDI now and has Medicare PartA. Medicare told them they could reject Part B and still stay in the marketplace and receive a subsidy. They have renal failure.
Is this true and has anyone had a similar situation? I thought once your one medicare regardless of age or taking Part B you were not eligible for the marketplace.

I wouldn't touch that one with a 10-foot pole. Have their benefits gone into effect?

People with Medicare

Read the parts about "can I choose marketplace coverage instead of Medicare" and "Can I get a marketplace plan in addition to Medicare". If they have already applied for (I assume it was done automatically for them when they were first eligible if on disability) and are currently enrolled in Part A, they can't choose a marketplace plan.

Write them a supplement immediately. Plan F or G depending on premiums. A few carriers pay commission under 65 but I'd do it for free unless the premiums were close.
