Medicare Part D and Plan D

HARRY RENARD SAID- "Its seems like you dont even have a grasp of the basics, which is fine but if you want to make any money (and not go to jail) you need training and direction."

Attention new insurance agents. This guy is talking out his ass(again!) You don't have to be worried about going to jail at all unless you act like a total lowlife. There is little if any enforcement going on out there and at the worst you might have your 50 dollar insurance license taken from you. If you stay in this business long enough you will learn that these S.O.B.s er I mean insurance agents are running rogue out there and for the most part do whatever they damn well please and get by with it. We wish there really was a threat that alot of these agents could get sent to jail for telling all their lies and misleading people but it has never happened and probably never will. What I have found in my long career as an agent of over 20 years is that every single insurance agent that ended up in jail had graduated from B.S.ing and misleading people to flat out fraud and thievery. The favorite trick of these agents that have ended up in jail has always been to take the clients innitial check payment and depositing it in their own checking account. Of course in their own minds they believe that they will forward the clients money to the insurance company someday but it ends up 6 months later and they still have not done it and in fact have spent a dozen other peoples money the same way. Eventually one of these clients gets to wondering and they call the insurance company direct and find out the insurance company never got their money or app and the whole thing unravels. Ususally about that time the insurance company calls the agent or his MGA and then after investigation they find the guy has blew 60,000 bucks of his clients money. Of course some of these fast talking weasel agents graduate to scamming the clients out of money by cooking up phony investment companies that are nothing but little Bernie Madoff ponzi schemes. Bottom line is there aint an agent out there that has been sent to jail that did not really really really ask for it.

Yoda- Do you cruise the forum looking for any little thing/point to argue.
Of course I dont think he is going to go to jail i was JOKING you effing ***.

I would love to know what else I have said that isnt true.
**BTW I am still waiting for you to prove that 1% interest on advances = 12% per month.

My point was the guy needs help and probably a little more then he can get reading on an insurance forum.

What was your point that I wrote jokingly that your gonna go to jail if you dont learn this stuff.

Come on Yoda Get it together you're really reaching.

My point should of been that this forum is teaming with scamming and con artist agents,MGA's,Lead salesmen and god only knows what else. The guy has probably already been sent 50 emails and PMs from the crowd of scammers lurking in this forum already. Sorry if I twisted your words. And yes 1% a month does equal 12% a year. It always did and always will no matter how the weasels try to twist it! Sorry

I agree with some of that, but you seem a little jaded.
I am not sure its as bad as you think though I once asked for a life insurance contract with WRL and it took me a week to get one one offer.

And you are wrong about the advance thing which is why you never proved it wrong.

Thanks Guy...I appreciate the support!!

I now realized that a bunch of you are so FAST to criticized newbies, rather than helpin them out.

If there's any MGA in my area that specialized in MS I would be more than happy to accept the reduced commission by 20% to get me started, but I spoke and went to their office (about 10 of them) and they just tell me to sell Plan F. No mention of Part D, or Plan D. 9/10 dont even specialized in MS, until they hear about Gerber coming into MS.

So can you blame me, for being a newby?

NoFault, I know this might be hard to realize now, however by criticizing you , they are helping you.

You do not need to take a 20% cut in income for Med Supp training.

1. Go to the Medicare website. Read it all. More than once.

2. Buy YIO, much cheaper than taking a commission cut. Get the med supp training from Frank.

3. Read all the posts in the Senior section of this forum.

================================================

Insurance agencies that focused on selling medicare supplements died in the early 90's when they passed a law that said the insurance companies could only pay level commissions. With the average commission on med supps running between 15 to 25% this left the general agents with no room for profit or even the expense of running an office let alone buying leads or running ads in the paper for prospective agents. I doubt there are 10 legit agencies that sell med supps in even the biggest cities in the country. Straight up what your looking for dont exist. All you are going to find is guys like the ones on this site who will give you nothing more then lip service.

Thanks guy. I'm not selling it, still studying the basics of Medicares, and yet am still very confused.

So there is no MS that cover prescription drug, only Medicare Part D that covers Rx. So if a senior wants a Rx drug plan then it has to be a with a carrier that offers Medicare Part D, and not Plan D..
NoFault, every agent on this forum selling these plans went through what you're going through now. I'm slightly ahead of you, but still climbing that learning curve. You have gotten good advice...start with the Medicare & You Publication on Medicare.gov. Read all you can, and if possible hook up with someone who knows the business well (that's what I'm planning on doing soon), willing to teach you about this market..if you read long enough, they'll pop out at you.
You'll be surprised that in a few weeks, you'll know so much more than you know now.
It won't be easy, the government/lobbying class take all the credit for this. The only way to get more comfortable with it is by studying it and repeating it until you get the basics down. There are a lot finer points, but those can come later. The best thing to remember is "do no harm".
What I had hoped someone who is smarter than anyone else in this market generated a "decision-tree" approach to guide the agent and client to a "boil-down" of choices, where you can then inject companies and plans to choose from. Haven't seen anything like that yet. I have read on the forums about a "needs analysis" but I am not sure what that is, if that is an official document, or someone's approach to accomplishing what I just said. I'd be interested in getting a hold of one of those myself.
So much to learn, and so little time to "gitt'er dun!"

Yoda is a NEWBIE here too.:D He reminds me of the typical keyboard warrior. He sounds like he knows a lot, and he may, but he uses his knowledge to criticize and put down, instead lifting people up, and helping them grow. In my opinion, he is the worst thing to happen to this forum since I have been a member.
There are people on this forum who can help you out. Everything that I know about this business thus far, which is probably only 1/100% of what YODA knows, I learned from people on this forum. Keep plugging away and ask questions, take baby steps, and soon you will be running full steam ahead.
