Medicare Selection

I just turned 65 (March 4), however, I have good medical coverage with my employer. Do I still need to select a medicare plan? If so, what is the timeline for which I must make this decision?

If you have creditable coverage you don't even have to be paying for your part B (unless the plan requires it).

1. Call your plan to ask if it's creditable and if they require you to have part B.
2. If not, you should make a decision this month, but you're probably fine. If you lose your creditable coverage you'll have a special election period to make a decision.
3. Not that this isn't in time, but you probably should have started this discussion about two or three months ago.
4. If you go to californiamedicareplans.com you can also get some help from a guy that's been doing this forever.
