Mentor Commission?

Thanks guys for all your answers. I see both sides of the coin now.

I didn't know whether it was fair for the commission and the renewal since I'm new and don't really know the industry's standard.

From what you guys are saying, I realized this is a good opportunity for me learn the commercial side while building up my personal lines as well.

Here is my suggestion with Commercial, it is WAY too much info for you to learn, I suggest picking 2 or 3 Industries only and learn about those, then market those. Pick an industry, say Auto repair facilities, then you learn the GL, the WC, the BOP, etc.....

Maybe have this mentor help you on 2 or 3 of these, then try it on your own.

its impossible to learn every single type of commercial policy you can, but get the basics down and then each industry will have its own variations.
