I am all set and excited to get in insurance industry. In process of completing pre licensing requirement for MI state. Can some please guide which is the best school or source where I can complete my pre-licensing.

Any inputs/suggestons:cool: greatly Appreciated.

In Michigan, you used to have to attend a week long class before you could take the test. Now, they allow you to prepare for the test via self study. I would recommend that you attend the class in Southfield from a company called Dearborn Financial / Kaplan. They helped me a lot in that I took their classes, I studied and I passed all four of the test that I needed [Life & Health, P & C, Series 6 & 63]. No matter how you prepare for the test, self study or classroom, I would strongly recommend the CD-ROM with practice questions that Kaplan offers. It was just like the test only a little bit harder so if you can pass the pratice exam, you will do be good to go.

If you are going for your Life & Health, I think the class is only 3 days. The P & C class is 5 days. The total cost for the class, practice CD and taking the actual test was about $500 for each one so $1,000 total to become licensed in Michigan.

My biggest advice for passing any of these tests is to prepare well and get a good night's sleep before hand. Be confident and READ THE QUESTION CAREFULLY, as they often try to trick you. Good Luck!

I used the Kaplan book as well but borrowed it from an insurance company. They didnt have the cd rom with test questions (which wouldve been nice) but I ended up passing it without taking any classes. Good luck!

Guys thanks for the inputs. RIght now I am not in a position to spend 500$ for kaplan. I have found following link

Always Available Online

If I take this course will it sufice as Pre licensing requirement for MI state. Please advise

Thanks.

I used Always Available.

Good self study program.

But since there is not any teacher-student interaction, I advise you take all the practice tests over and over till you score 90%.

I also advise you take some cram tests too.

I used kaplan, to be honest it was extremely out of date and didnt really help much with the test. I did use the CD but if you getting 90% on the CD then you probably know just enough to pass the test.
