Is this right or am I looking at old Americo smoker rates?

Just ran a few quotes with Monumentals new smoker rates, take a look

75 Male
Monu: 138.26 / Americo: 147.48

75 Female
Monu: 95.41 / Americo: 97.74

65 Male
Monu: 76.25 / Americo: 86.69

65 Female
Monu: 54.17 / Americo: 59.06

55 Male
Monu: 45.72 / Americo: 55.75

55 Female
Monu: 37.16 / Americo: 39.16

If these rates are correct where does Americo now fit? (cigar smokers? anywhere else?)
Nevermind, it had to be old rates I quoted Americo. With correct rates Americo kicks everybodys butt!

I think the problem may be with the new product line. I was trying to use the Mon web calculator and instead of lp99 it shows lp121. I guess I gotta figure out rates the old fashioned way until I get the new apps.

The Mon phone app updated automatically today. At least mine did.

Rates didn't change terribly except for where they were good to go. Went up quite a bit on the older ages and also for smokers.

Still don't know what changes they made to the app.

They were pretty much useless before. Now it's just moreso.

Just for that you'll be even a complementary amendment on your next application with Monumental :)

Reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask you guys. If someone is a smoker why bother putting them with Monumental, Americo, Forethought, or any number of carriers when you have guaranteed issue rates that are usually cheaper?

Looking at just Vantis a 10k face for 65f is $54.07. With that you get ROP if death occurs within 2 years, but full benefit if the death is accidental.

But the other plus is it's guaranteed issue so you don't have to ask the client any health questions and they wouldn't have to do a phone interview OR get potentially turned down for some other health reason that will come up during the process.

Other than I suppose the commission being better with the *normal* carriers and worth the potential hassle is there any other benefit?

What happens when you go to deliver the policy and find out they had a brain aneurism and died? You always want to give the client Immed coverage.

First so that I am not sued. Second because that would be a slimy thing to do.

>>With that you get ROP if death occurs within 2 years,

See above.

>>plus is it's guaranteed issue so you don't have to ask the client any health questions and they wouldn't have to do a phone interview OR get potentially turned down for some other health reason

See second part of above (slimy)

>>Other than I suppose the commission being better with the *normal* carriers and worth the potential hassle

Second part again. Oh and stupid.

It is a legitimate question. I do not mean to come off as an ass, but there are slime balls that do just what you are asking. That was my intro into FE and FE agents. I thought they were all like that. This forum changed my thinking.

Edit: I probably came across a bit harsh. Did not mean to. However I have gone into so many homes to undo that type of deal. I get a little ticked. Lee

I agree. I'm looking at Vantis now for a guy with all kinds of mental problems, i.e. bi-polar, etc, and he's not as crazy as his meds may indicate, (old Army buddy) but I'm probably graded at best with most and those prices are higher than Vantis at 20K. He's 53 and smokes like a chimney and had prostate cancer surgery 12 years ago (cancer gone). This guy isn't close to expiring and is in excellent physical shape, but to an insurance company, he's a wack job.
