Monumental Solutions Being Phased Out on March 18

Curious, where are you sending your COPD clients?

I usually don't write them. Most won't pay the premium of Mon standard. And I don't write GI stuff.

I have a case with Monumental right now on a 79 year old male that they decided to do a phone interview with. They claimed because of "Rx history". He takes one med for high blood pressure. They been having trouble getting in touch with him so I went by his home on Thurs and he called in to complete the interview. They went over the entire application word for wors and then added in about 5 more minutes of questions.

He told them he only took the oneRx and had only taken it for a year or so. The whole interview took almost 30 minutes.

This guy is aboput as healthy as it gets for a 79 year old. He still works as relief driver for a local trucking company. And he delivers pizza for friend of his that owns a small pizza shop.

I offered him fRNA's fully underwritten but he didn't want to pay for $25,000.

I see at the Monumental site that it's still pending even though the interview has been done.

They will probably have an amendment, if it's approved, just because they did a phone interview. They do amendments for sport.

AmCon was only $2/mo per month. I should have used them to start with. I will if they change this one to standard.

Yeah, i've been writing the Monumental Standard rates for these cases and have had no issues... Had one guy using a CPAP machine the other day, wrote him at graded... already approved...

One thing I am curious about: their new guides say if someone had a stent or pacemaker installed, regardless of date, that is considered to be considered as currently under treatment so that question of "In the past 24 mos Had or been treated for ........,stent, pacemker, ......" You would have to answer "Yes", now a graded product.

If you want to be totally confused on it just call them up and ask them.

I really get tired of how many phi they ordered. You send ten apps in one week, and at least 3 will get phi. They should just allow the agents to do the phi. Have it as optional.

That's crazy... I have about 25-30 clients with them, maybe more but only had 2 interviews ever ordered thru them.

You got lucky. Ive sent several cases there and it seems like it just keeps getting worse. Have over 100 in force but probably 30 of those i had to do phi or amendment and probably 15 more that didnt get approved at all.

Yeah you got lucky.. When I write with them I just let the client know that the company will send me back and to expect me.

Transamerica seems like they're worse so I'm out if they change things too much..

Should not see too much change. Trans/Aegon has been doing the underwriting out of IA for the past 1.5 years for MonLife.

Ok.. When Monlife first got Transamerica I was writing the IUL, but they made so many changes I stopped writing it altogether.

I'm just wondering what they're trying to accomplish with all these changes-every month seems like something new...
